Hunter Week (aka best week EVER)
Hai everyone! *waves happily*
*screams* It’s Hunter Week! *flails*
Who’s surprised me of all people would be excited about this? Anyone?….. Didn’t think so.
I love hunters and people will always ask me why. It’s a fairly complicated and long winded response every time. I’ll try to keep it short for you. WE ROCK. Ok, sorry if that went a bit long.
In all reality though I really have such a bond with my characters Ghemit, Dendor and Dentrian mainly because it was my very first class I picked when I started this crazy journey many many years ago. It seems everyone at one point had a Night Elf hunter then moved on, why do I keep Ghemit as my main? It’s fun, I enjoy going running in arrows and traps flying, as my pet rips shreds from my foes, calling down a murder of crows and stampede while my dire beast comes running in and then my enemy steps on my traps and is attacked by snakes and explosions. Who wouldn’t think that was fun? It’s a blast targeting something big and bad then unleashing the zoo to take it down.
Then there are our pets, our loyal companions fighting alongside as we journey through Azeroth and beyond. Much like in our actual lives there is a bond formed between man and beast. I can hear you rolling your eyes already, just hear me out. My main pets are a grey wolf named Snickerz and my green cat named Elloric. I’ve had these pets for almost the entire time I’ve been playing. We’ve been through so much together; traveling all over Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, through the Dark Portal, venturing all over Northrend, the cataclysm and defeating Deathwing and now through the new lands known as Pandaria. We’ve been through A LOT together and although they’re just pixels on a screen they are my pets and having experienced so much with them, yes I have formed a bond. We’re a team. Although they may not give buffs like others do, or have any kind of special abilities I will continue to journey with them.
“Huntard!” Ok really, are you 5? I hate that this word exists. Yes there are people that are really bad at playing the hunter class and that’s where the name came from. I’ll be the first to admit I was a terrible hunter in the beginning, I had no idea why people were screaming at me to take growl off. But I was having fun and slowly learned the intricate ins and outs of being a good hunter. Not many people do though. The hunter class is very easy to pick up and start feeling like a leet boss. You have a portable tank with you, of course you feel like you can solo anything. For the most part that’s true; soloing. Once you start getting into dungeons and raids managing your pet becomes a heavy part of playing well. My best memories are when a tank would die to something stupid and I would switch growl on and finish the fight with my pet tanking to the awe of the group. I also, like I said learned the advanced art of the hunter.
If you haven’t tried to play a hunter, give it a shot (see what I did there) you may like it. Just be sure to first learn where growl is and how to turn it off before you dive into a dungeon. Hunters bring a lot of dps and utility to dungeons and raids and can be a great addition to your army of alts.
I love you all. LIVE!
